There is currently 12,196 words in Madden and Bastion’s story.
Bastion is no longer going by Dragonborn. I’m going with dragon-folk. This was done for two reasons:
- Legal-At the time of this post, Dragonborn is trademarked for use in video games, tabletop games, and role-playing games. I might get away with it as written fiction. But I think it’s safer for me to just not use the term for my work.
- No limitations-dragonborns have pre-existing rules, and people have their own formed ideas of them. Dragon-folk is generic and freeing at the time. They can be anything I want them to be in my story. And if I were to use dragon-folk again in a different series, I can totally change them. Marketing, it would be better if I gave them a different name. But that is a what if scenario.
